Tentativa de autoextermínio e violência sexual: perfil de um ambulatório do Distrito Federal

Abstract

Sexual violence in children and adolescents can be associated with several consequences, including the attempt at self-extermination. Quantitative, cross-sec-tional and retrospective analysis study aimed to evaluate the profile of children and adolescents victims of sexual abuse correlating with attempted self-extermination and mental disorders. Most patients were female (77.6%) with a mean age of 12 years. 17.7% attempted self-extermination and the main associated disorders were depressive disorder (37%) followed by anxiety disorder (22.2%). The presence of self-mutilation was evidenced in 85.1%. Identifying protective factors and being aware of risk factors and symptoms associated with sexual violence during con-sultation scan help prevent suicide attempts in this population.
